On Thursday, March 12, 2009, Cougar Helicopter flight 491 fell into the Atlantic Ocean, just 47 nautical miles southeast of St. John’s.

The 18 on board included 14 personnel on their way to the Sea Rose FPSO, 2 personnel to the Hibernia platform and 2 Cougar Helicopter crew members.
There was one survivor, Robert Decker.

This page is dedicated to my friend John Pelley and to all the families, friends and coworkers of the victims on Cougar Flight 491.
